Overcome your villains really gave me motivation and energy。 I am just completing my first year with my own business and reading about Heather's path the last few years and how she questioned herself or maybe listened to the wrong people but was able to face her fears and achieve success。 I feel more energized and confident that I can do this in my life。 It takes hard work and perseverance but it can be done。 Overcome your villains really gave me motivation and energy。 I am just completing my first year with my own business and reading about Heather's path the last few years and how she questioned herself or maybe listened to the wrong people but was able to face her fears and achieve success。 I feel more energized and confident that I can do this in my life。 It takes hard work and perseverance but it can be done。 。。。more

WOW。 The first sentence “I got fired。” The last words, “…always fire your villains to set yourself up for takeoff。”This book is incredible。 I related to the lowest parts of this book way too well。 The stories, exercises, motivation have helped a million times over。 Complimented with a few of Heather’s networking events, I’m consistently impressed by Heather’s strength, fortitude and desire to overcome adversity。 Heather, you’re amazing。 Thank you for bringing your voice and honest experience to WOW。 The first sentence “I got fired。” The last words, “…always fire your villains to set yourself up for takeoff。”This book is incredible。 I related to the lowest parts of this book way too well。 The stories, exercises, motivation have helped a million times over。 Complimented with a few of Heather’s networking events, I’m consistently impressed by Heather’s strength, fortitude and desire to overcome adversity。 Heather, you’re amazing。 Thank you for bringing your voice and honest experience to those also trying to grow 。。。more

This was a great read!!! I really recommend this book to anybody who’s wanting to be an entrepreneur or for people who want to remove their villains! As we know the targeted audience is women for this book, however I believe the beliefs, concepts and principles in this book can apply to men as well。 Now that I am finished with this book, I will be purchasing her 1st book “Confidence Creator。”

It is more than a book, it's a movement (#overcomeyouvillains)。。。 and it's a method to apply beliefs, actions, and knowledge to overcome / fire the villains in your life and in your head。 Overcoming villains goes beyond putting up and shutting up or just coping。 Self-esteem is usually at the root of inaction, and this movement is about more than instilling temporary confidence, it transformed me and rendered me incapable of tolerating less than I deserve and will do the same for others。 For me, It is more than a book, it's a movement (#overcomeyouvillains)。。。 and it's a method to apply beliefs, actions, and knowledge to overcome / fire the villains in your life and in your head。 Overcoming villains goes beyond putting up and shutting up or just coping。 Self-esteem is usually at the root of inaction, and this movement is about more than instilling temporary confidence, it transformed me and rendered me incapable of tolerating less than I deserve and will do the same for others。 For me, the movement is about addressing / reducing / removing obstacles to become the fullest expression of who you are meant to be in all areas of life。 My personal brand is Self-Love and Fitness, but it actually started with me firing my villains (limiting beliefs) and continuing to do so。 My toxic trait is that I freeze in fear when faced with life decisions, #overcomeyourvillains is about finding clarity, confidence, and ease when facing adversity and creating it from within。When we stand up for ourselves, we stand up for others and show them that their voice matters, that is what this movement means to me and it is important that this movement continues。This book and movement made me realize how sick I am of situations where I have to shrink back。This movement is about saying ENOUGH OF THIS to un-necessary pain, un-necessary suffering, it can be easier, it can get better, and you're the main character and overcoming your internal and external villains is the key。 It's time to shed the belief that we are powerless and can't make change happen。It made me realize how much I had been gaslighting myself and holding myself back from my vision。Learn to overcome your villains / limiting beliefs and invest in yourself by buying this book! 。。。more

Overcome Your Villains: Mastering your Beliefs, Actions, and Knowledge to Conquer Any Adversity is now one of my favorites about creating what the best is for oneself。 This translates into helping Adversity is now one of my favorites about creating what the best is for oneself。 This translates into helping others be successful when applied to our personal and professional lives。Heather Monahan, the author, asked me to read and review before release on November 9th。 Sent the NetGallery pre-release version was able to convert to audio in ‘text to speak’ on iPhone。This book is super useful for anyone feeling stuck personally and professionally。Whether living on someone else's limiting beliefs about us transformed to reimagining what's possible for yourself。 This book is fantastic from my POV to converting old thoughts that force feeling stuck that hinder confidence。 Lots of personal examples and simple-to-follow ideas that work to shift mindset and strategy toward living our best life。As a pre-launch reviewer am making sure to read all the content without bouncing to what’s just for personal use as recommended by the author。What is different about this book is being directed to which area the reader is struggling。 There is no one size fits all how-to in life。 The reader is guided to begin where they believe the biggest difficulty is。 What works for one person may be another’s dilemma。 The author encourages the reader to identify and discovering their own strengths and challenges to customizing desired and needed results。In Overcome Your Villains, the reader decides what process they need guidance from。 We can skip to the section to target an approach。 Be guided in the area following examples from the author's life。 With questions and facilitation of self-guided practices with the process。This book can be your ticket to finding what truly works for yourself。 You can try therapy and a life or business coach for a lot more money, too。 A mix of each as is needed。 The point, you decide what you need when discovering the undercurrent to self-doubt, and roadblocks。Ms。 Monahan encourages personalization with beginning to identify areas for awareness。 Then, what you can do to move forward。Overcome Your Villains has practical examples of leveling up。 The three sections with questions will help any reader identify areas we could engage toward improvement。Another book that this reminds me of is Judy Carter’s The Message of You: Turn Your Life Story into a Money-Making Speaking Career。 Both books have steps that help identify storytelling ideas to include in business and personal messaging。 Connect with people both professionally and personally that move the needle on being more for self and others in one’s industry。Authenticity is a big deal and these two books make finding the tread of what makes us unique in our world for others helps build relationships that last a lifetime in both personal and professional circles。 Though, Ms。 Monahan’s book isn’t as focused on the tutorial as Ms。 Carter’s guide within the storytelling is at the core of building the business。 Ms。 Monahan’s book does similar as it helps the individual identify stories we tell ourselves limiting self-beliefs。 Once we figure this out can leverage our newfound understanding when we open up to others either as speakers, on podcasts, as an author, or even within our daily life。Action would have been my section (2) where I’d begin of three: Belief, Action, Knowledge or as the author notes, BAK on a flow chart included。 Though, I still would read the entire book for a frame of reference to encourage others who may be struggling in these areas to try it for themselves。Even if you believe you’re on the perfect path, from my view, this book will open doors。 Whether in how to engage the professional world to make more income through relationships personally。 Finding deeper peace within that even though you don’t feel ‘perfect’ can connect with the imperfection of self-reflection while feeling comfortable with the world’s view being reflected。 Including the people who misjudge or do things to hurt us becoming lessons that drive our train to a new path。Rather than stay the course of what we thought is our best life。 We take risks to growth, development, and finding a whole new world where we live on the greener side of the grassy knoll we never dreamed possible。Not knowing what to think when I agreed to read this book。 Am walking away with more confidence。 Enthusiasm for goals at my doorstep and those long term。 I’m especially excited Ms。 Monahan asked me and I said yes to be of service to her need。 As she repeatedly says, doors to new relationships sometimes begin with acts of service to help others。We have very different goals in some ways。 But, a unifying thread in a desire to succeed for others and ourselves。I think what surprised me the most about this book is how much Ms。 Monahan and myself have in common。 From our views about our intelligence growing up somehow not being adequate to raising a son。 I suffered literacy issues and Ms。 Monahan's feelings compared to her sister as less intelligent。 This is part of my story, too。 To being treated poorly at work in a similar fashion。 Hearing her story about this hit home deeply。 Both resulted in us striving to create a new way of exploring entrepreneurism and making vital connections to help more people, as well as ourselves。This book is for everyone and anyone who’s ever grown up seeking their best life in both business and personal growth。Some areas that may appear similar to other authors in regards to helping people succeed is the formula from sharing a personal experience to how the author overcomes and finds their success than passing the ideas that work for them to the reader to try。What’s very different about this book is Ms。 Monahan has workbook-type sections following the three core sections: Belief, Knowledge, Action。 The book isn’t just telling stories and mentioning ideas。Similar to James Clear’s Atomic Habits where he supplies ample downloadable actionable steps。 All of these are within the book already。 Like, Stephen Covey’s many books from The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People to First Things First all guide with examples。 Overcome Your Villains leads similarly。 Though Ms。 Monahan’s questions and answers section is a writing activity at the end of each of three sections。 Not separated into a workbook (yet)。Kinda like an all-inclusive resort stay。 Everything is in one place from the stories to the actionable activities。The book is in different sections making locating content simple。 The first is an introduction。 What qualifies the author on the idea to overcome the things blocking aspirations, then there are three sections。 Each with specific examples Ms。 Monahan endured and then it’s the readers turn to convert their own life story and struggles into new ideas for implementation。One of my favorite parts at the end of every chapter is “key takeaway”。 This helps sum the section and apply to self more deeply。What was super cool is anyone I would have recommended to Ms。 Monahan to connect with, like David Meltzer, she already mentions via example during my research。I haven’t seen the official book。 The release is on November 9th, 2021。 Excited to receive a copy shortly thereafter。Before saying yes to Ms。 Monahan’s prelaunch team review request did research。 Read anything I could besides what her LinkedIn profile noted。 I wanted to see what others thought on both one and five-star reviews and Goodreads。 Considering a story she tells about a one-star review found my assessment helpful, as well, in perception。One notation I’d like to make is in regards to what I read in review from Ms。 Monahan’s first book。 The reviewer made comments they struggle with believability because the author is so attractive (their words) and how could someone who looks like this who presents success (in their opinion) from such a level ever lacks confidence。Don’t judge a book by its cover。Heather went to great lengths to share her story。 I admit upfront thought similarly to the other reviewer。 Wondering what would we have in common。 How could this translate into me finding strength for myself? The beauty of this is while reading the perspective was peeled away。 Finding similarities to me was very easy。 Confidence sometimes dresses in fear and failure。 Notions of personal inadequacy。When people do this judgment toward me。 Believing I’m someone based on my resume alone or how I’m dressed are saying, ‘this is the story I’m telling myself about you’。 They don’t want to know me。 Just see their version。 These people weed themselves out for connection or what gifts I have based on the truth of my own journey。 Reflecting on how they view their own。 Your opinion of me is none of my business。 This shines through to me during the read。 Finding the people who see past the confidence and unwrap their perceptions are the type of people this book is for。 Yes, Ms。 Monahan wraps herself well in a red dress (read more about this story in the book) which helps her feel confident。 But, more importantly, gives a view of how we all can armor up confidence even when we are feeling less adequate, nervous, ashamed, or whatever until we get to our next place of growth out of these sensations。People from Brene’ Brown to Stephen King all claim introversion and disliking large crowds。 Yet, rock the stage during appearances。 Inside all the while wishing, “there’s no place like home。” These examples among others come to mind when I consider the reviewers judgment of Ms。 Monahan。Personally for my own goals, what I like most about this book is how relatable the author is to my own story。 The book helped me feel more confident about not wanting to do like other entrepreneurs in areas like such high achieving speaking gigs, but if I want to know there’s a way。 Lots of great tips。 As I’m learning what needs to get done or do for my own goals feel Ms。 Monahan gave me some ideas to focus on what works for me and how to get to my check points toward the end game goal。 Similar to what David Meltzer teaches in Game Time Decision Making。The book gives me practical ideas to finding grace within and ways to connect in route to my introversion success。 Having practiced for years since college speaking to amateur comedy, and even storying telling events plus being a teacher。 But, even with decades of experience still feel freaked out infront of parents, not students and children when presenting a story or playing guitar for the kids。Whether you’re an introvert, extrovert, or striving ambivert in a world of perceptions and judgment this book can help anyone find more for themselves。 Others, and how to do it with style。Once I get a copy of the hardcover following release if there are any differences will return to note such and add further。⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💯 When I hear the word villain, I think about the cartoon burglar character, sneaking around and creating problems or taking things away from me。Heather has experience dealing with villains。 She gives a great example that highlights the fact that villains do not fit a stereotype or wear a label。 They might show up as a colleague or a manager。 They might even show up as someone that we think should be on our side。She also helps us see that our villains may do things that hurt us, but we can take When I hear the word villain, I think about the cartoon burglar character, sneaking around and creating problems or taking things away from me。Heather has experience dealing with villains。 She gives a great example that highlights the fact that villains do not fit a stereotype or wear a label。 They might show up as a colleague or a manager。 They might even show up as someone that we think should be on our side。She also helps us see that our villains may do things that hurt us, but we can take what results and make something better。 Like the saying goes, "when [your villain] gives you lemons, make lemonade。"One of the great parts of this book are the exercises。 I like to read a lot, but I like to learn and apply the things I read as often as I can。 The exercises in this book are powerful or can be if you do them。 Don't take this book and aim to read it as quickly as possible。 Take some time and work on the exercises so you can get the most out of them。 I love how Heather shares how she took the roadblocks that a villain put in her way and overcame them so successfully that she ends her book by saying "Thank you" to her villainThis review is based on a pre-release copy。 As an advanced reader, I did get a free copy, but I do have a paid copy coming on release day and I am looking forward to it and will be rereading this one and spending more time reviewing the exercises。 。。。more
